Some people it seems are almost filled with dread at the prospect of retirement - of bringing an end to the well known and comfortable routine of each working day. But if that happens to be you, I hope that by the end of this brief guide, you will be positively jumping for joy at the prospect of giving up your mundane, predictable, day to day routine, and itching to grasp the wealth of opportunities which lie before you.In this article, we will outline seven ways by which to gain contentment in retirement.1. PMA - Positive Mental Attitude. It has been said that ‘attitude is everything’ and it certainly holds true that if you are open to the prospect of new challenges and pastimes, you will thoroughly enjoy this new phase of your life.2. Stay active, both physically and mentally. Do not get into the habit of sitting around the house vegetating, get out and enjoy doing what you never used to have time to do. Play more golf, go fishing, join a walking club, all for the social interaction as much as anything. If you are in the house, play sudoku each day and do a crossword to test the grey matter!3.Travel to places you haven’t been to before. With the world a much smaller place now than before, a trip to Australia or America isn’t nearly as daunting, or expensive for that matter, as it was say 20 years ago. Try a ‘cruise to escape the blues’ of the winter cold for a few weeks.4. Make a point of meeting regularly with your peers. Perhaps each week for a cuppa or round of golf or whatever, just to keep in touch and help each other if problems arise. A lot of fulfillment will be derived from helping and supporting those in need.5. Try to have fun, have a laugh and don’t take yourself too seriously. Be someone who brings a bit of happiness to others, even perhaps when you don’t always feel like it.6. Try to learn at least one new thing each day. Whether it be from reading a book, or the internet or wherever, keep challenging your intellect. Try to learn a new language even, or take night classes in computers or digital photography.7. Most importantly of all, spend the time which you now have available with those who mean the most to you. Be it your spouse, your children or grandchildren, try to meet up for lunch or go out for dinner when possible, throw family parties, offer to babysit the grandchildren. Quality time with loved ones is to be cherished above all else, because it really does bring pleasure money can’t buy.In conclusion, retirement is a new phase of your life which you should embrace with open arms. You now have the time to enjoy all the best of what life has to offer. Keep active, stay busy, be open to new challenges and surround yourself with those whom you love.Wishing you a wonderful, fulfilling retirement!

AHAs are becoming very popular in the fight against ageing skin and are getting added to most of the beauty and skin care products. AHAs are one of the ingredients that help us keep skin looking young for a longer time. Let us find out about common AHA molecules and how they help in skin care.Glycolic acid- this is one of the most commonly used Alpha Hydroxy Acids in skin care. It is derived naturally from sugar cane juice. Glycolic acid has a very low molecular size. This low molecular size allows glycolic acid to penetrate skin faster. The dead skin cells that bind with the skin are removed by glycolic acid by loosening the glue that sticks the dead cells with the skin. As the glue loosens, the dead cells exfoliate giving a cleaner look to the skin. Shedding dead cells faster also allows growth of new cells. Glycolic acids also smoothen fine wrinkles. This acid also helps in treatment of blackheads and dries out the excess surface oil on the skin. It is also thought that glycolic acids stimulate collagen production to some extent. This acid also keeps the skin moisturized by keeping water bound to the skin and prevents drying of skin. It can also bleach some spots on the skin. One added advantage of glycolic acid is that it helps other skin care ingredients reach deeper in the skin and makes them more effective. Glycolic acid is on the frontier of skin care.Lactic acid- it is derived from milk. Milk baths have been popular since ages to get fresh skin and better skin care. That is because of the lactic acid. Lactic acid is a good skin moisturizer as it helps retain water in the skin. It is also a good exfoliater of dead skin cells. It is generally used in combination with other AHAs in skin care products.Citric acid is also an Alpha Hydroxy Acid. Citric acid is derived from citrus fruits. It accelerates collagen production and also removes spots on the skin. Citric acid is not a good exfoliator. It is considered a good anti oxidant, as it neutralizes free radicals that age the skin. Citric acid has been used for skin care since long in household remedies.Malic Acid and tartaric acids are other popular Alpha Hydroxy Acids. They are not commonly used alone for skin care treatments but are added to make a combination of AHA skin care products to derive multiple benefits. This article is only for informative purposes. This article deals with a few safe, easy ways to start anti aging therapy for yourself in the comfort of your own home. The advice here comes mainly from personal experience and is not intended to replace proper medical advice and treatment. Always consult a doctor before beginning any kind of home therapy if you have health issues that may make light exercise difficult or hazardous. As we age, we start noticing little things more; wrinkles, age spots, the way the veins on the backs of our hands stick up. Nothing is ever going to completely erase the marks of the hand of time, of course. But there are steps we can take to ensure that age finds us healthy and still living a full, vital life. The first and most important step in any kind of anti aging therapy is learning to be comfortable with yourself at whatever age you are. Life is not over at fifty, or sixty, or even eighty or ninety, unless you let it be. Life will change; when we speak of anti aging therapy, we mean less stopping age and more controlling it.The second most important step is to stay healthy. If you thought that eating right and getting plenty of exercise were something that you would be able to set aside once you reached retirement age–think again! An essential part of anti aging therapy involves keeping your body at its best through diet and exercise. Find some method of light exercise that you enjoy, and make time to do it daily. If at all possible, make sure that you really enjoy it; that makes it all the easier to do it regularly, and regularity is the key to any anti aging therapy.Third, become involved in an activity that gives back to the community around you. Many seniors view the years after retirement as the taking years; they’ve given their time to their jobs for years, and now it’s time to take it for themselves. But becoming involved in some form of community activity will give you a more positive outlook on life, which translates into a sparkle in your eye and a spring in your step. Giving back is one of the most effective methods of anti-aging therapy.Any of these anti aging therapies can help you stay younger longer, but they work best when you follow all of them to the best of your ability.
